What are the rules for book submissions?

  • Tell us of a time that you were blessed by an Encounter with Christ in an everyday moment. This may include answered prayers (both said and unsaid prayers), revelation and guidance, small moments and tender mercies where His love was felt, etc. Miracles big and small. Moments that many would consider simple, but you know were a gift from our Heavenly Father and Savior, Jesus Christ.
  • Submissions have a limit of 1,300 words maximum, with no minimum word count necessary.
  • Submissions must be written in English.
  • Written submissions should be written with first person narration and told in past tense.
  • Spoken recordings may also be submitted for those who do not want to write their own experience. Chosen recordings will be transcribed and written to meet written standards. In this case the author name/credit will show as: As told by John Doe. (Instead of only listing John Doe)
  • We do not pay for submissions, only for published works.
  • We do not accept all submissions to be published. Though not all submissions will be published in book, some will be accepted for blog publication or later book volumes.
  • If your submission is selected to be published in one of our books, you will be asked to sign a permission release contract. The contract will allow The Bad Day Group, LLC (the publisher of Encountering Christ in Everyday Moments) exclusive rights to your written story for 12 months. This means that you retain ownership of your work but you grant us the rights to publish it in our products. For 12 months after publication the written story can be published solely by The Bad Day Group, LLC. After the contracted 12 months the story is yours to do with as you please.
  • We will not consider previous published stories or poems, with one exception being previously published stories or poem from personal blog publications.
  • Author name can be shown as first name only, first and last name.
  • Submissions MUST be personal and true events that have already happened. No AI bot stories. No creative writing. No fiction.

When will I be notified if my submission has been selected?

You will be notified within 30-45 days after the submission deadline if your work has been selected for publication.

Stories selected for publication will then move into a simple editing and contract phase before book publication.

Do I receive payment for our contribution?

Each published work will be paid $40. You will also be provided with 1 paperback copies of each publication with your published work. All books and monetary payments will be provided 30-45 days after book publication.

*We do not pay for submissions. We only pay for pieces that are published in books.

Can I submit if I live outside of the United States of America?

Yes. We will consider stories, written in English, submitted from anywhere in the world.

How do I update current contact information for pieces that has already been submitted?

If you have a submission to the blog or the book, or have been previously published, and would like to update your current contact information please email: [email protected]
